It's worse now than in many years, evidently. Trump is useless. The Republicans and Democrats in Congress are useless. And the American media is actively evil: The above news article, like just about all of them, deliberately refuses to mention the most important point: Those illegal immigrants who claim asylum in the U.S. are almost always released inside the country. They're given court dates for a beyond-absurd two or five years down the line and 95% don't show up even then.
The hordes of barbarians are at the gate -- and well inside too.

"Because border detention facilities are past capacity and Immigration and Customs Enforcement has limited ability to hold families in detention, the migrants are processed, given a notice to appear in immigration court, then released to the nonprofit Annunciation House in El Paso [Texas] while they make travel arrangements to join other family members in the interior of the United States."
