CNN continue its war on free speech galvanised by a possible Biden White House.
Professor Turley's Blog has this post:
Like many anti-free speech advocates, Darcy simply labels those with opposing views as spreading “disinformation” and demands that they be labelled or barred from social media. In a recent newsletter, Darcy calls for every tweet by Trump to be labelled as disinformation while asking “and why stop there?” Precisely. Once you cross the Rubicon of speech regulation, there is little reason or inclination to stop.

One can surmise that all "hate speech" (however that is defined by the victimologists) has the possibility of being defined as 'disinformation' under this view as well. Douglas Murray has an excellent piece in Unherd detailing the victimologists modus operandi to censorship. He writes on Random House-Penguin's Canadian staff have had a meltdown with fears and tears over Jordan Peterson's new book, the sequel to 12 Rules, and yet to be published. The New Zealand Law Society's publication Law Talk, in a CNN moment, had a prohibition on citations to Dr Peterson (so relying upon some lawyers to protect this right does not seem hopeful) and we also recall Whitcoulls was not going to stock the first book.
Anyway, Douglas Murray in his typically lucid manner (apologies for the quotes but he says it best) says this:
"The bullies of the era do not come shouting foul epithets and derogatory names. They do not come proclaiming their strength. Ever since victimhood triumphed over heroism, the bullies of our world have instead come proclaiming the language of the hurt and upset, of weakness and suffering. It’s become such a tried and tested tactic we barely even notice it anymore.
Where once a person would have assaulted another person, verbally or otherwise, to win in the era of “oppression” the would-be victor must claim that they themselves are the ones who have been assaulted. Where once the loser would have wept, today the would-be winner must weep: very early, very fast and as insincerely as occasion necessitates."
...
"But the trick works, because so few adults want to call bullshit on the bully-words of our time. Not just because the bully-words are the words of the oppressed, but because they come cloaked in this language of impossible-to-disprove suffering. Who are you to say that the other person does not feel “unsafe”? How can you prove they don’t?"

"What we see is a new generation of people who do not know how to think, act or behave. In some cases, they genuinely haven’t grown out of the stage of development where it is appropriate to cry if you do not get your way. The answer to all this remains the same: which is that the adults must reassert themselves."
One could add to the last cited paragraph what is also needed is a reassertion of the Apollonian mindset, and eye, and less of the Dionysian per Camille Paglia.
Now we have clearly laid bare the details of one the most pernicious MO's driving hate speech and anti-free speech.
