Attacked For Not Being A Crook

I can certainly sympathise with Mr Donald Trump at the moment in the attacks he faces from the Republican establishment.

Mr Trump isn't for sale, isn't taking money from special interests and awarding government contracts in return, intends to put an end to such activities, and an end to the gravy train of corruption which pollutes the US political system.

This is his 'crime' as far as they are concerned.

I had a similar situation a few years back where I lived in Palmy North and Wanganui during 2004/05 undertaking the winding up of an estate of an old friend of mine who had died.
His estate consisted mainly of around a dozen properties - houses and buildings - in both those cities, and took ages to eventually sell them all.

My business partner for a decade up until that time wanted me, as trustee, to sell the properties to him at a knock down price - a suggestion I immediately rejected out of hand (as any honest man would).

The result? an enormous barrage of abuse, attacks, accusations, fake profiles on facebook and elsewhere, numerous fake blogs, all purporting to be me in a fairly childish 'revenge' for me ....not being a crook.
I have pretty much ignored him and his pathetic friends and their activities over the last decade, despite the damage to my reputation, and it is only the recent expiration of a confidentiality agreement which enables me to finally discuss it.

But what a sick situation it is when everyone else's moral compass is so polluted you get attacked for being honest, principled, and not a crook Shocked

It is even sicker to see the truly extraordinary number of people prepared to swallow this sort of thing.

So yes, I can certainly sympathise with Donald Trump at what he is being attacked for - he wants to end the gravy train, lots of people won't earn vast sums of corrupt dollars, and they will do anything to prevent it.

Truly sickening.
